About Seawell Grantley Adams Airport (BGI)

Seawell Grantley Adams Airport (BGI) is an international airport located in Seawell, Christ Church, Barbados. It’s located about 8 miles (12.9 km) from the centre of the capital city Bridgetown, in an area officially known as Seawell. The airport is named in honour of the first Premier of Barbados, Sir Grantley Herbert Adams. It is equipped with one runway and two terminal buildings designed to appear as one single continuous structure. It first opened in September 1938. It’s the hub for LIAT.
