Avarua Rarotonga Airport (RAR) is an international airport located in Avarua, Rarotonga, Cook Islands. It’s located about 1.9 miles (3 km) west of the downtown area on the northern coast. It is equipped with one runway and one main passenger terminal. It first opened in 29 January 1974 by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the site of a former United States World War II airbase.
