About Belfast Airport (BFS)
Belfast International Airport is located 11.5 NM (21. 3 km) northwest of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Previously known as Aldergrove Airport, named after the Aldergrove village. Its site was established in 1917, but the civil traffic began in 1922. More than 6.2 million passengers traveled through Belfast Airport and the majority of flights are operated by EasyJet, which is Northern Ireland’s largest airline. The airport is a single runway and serves as the principal airport in the area.
