Vieux-Fort Hewanorra Airport (UVF) is an international airport located in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia. It’s located on the southern cape of the island, about 33.2 miles (53.4 km) from the capital city, Castries. The name of the airport is an Amerindian word meaning “[land of the] iguana”, referring to what the Island Caribs called Saint Lucia. It is equipped with one runway, one helipad and one main passenger terminal. It first opened in 1941.
