About Chicago O'Hare Airport ORD
Chicago O’Hare Airport (ORD) is an international airport located in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It’s on the Far Northwest Side of Chicago, located about 17 miles (27 km) northwest of the Loop. The airport is named in honor of Edward O’Hare, the U.S. Navy’s first flying ace and Medal of Honor recipient in World War II. It covers an area of 7,200 acres & is equipped with eight runways & four passenger terminals with nine concourses. It first opened in 1955. It’s the hub for Air Choice One, United Airlines and American Airlines, and a focus city for Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines.
